Oily Skin Care - How to Manage Oily Skin

oily skin, oily skin care, prevent oily skin

Who loves oily skin when it gives you a greasy unattractive look? It is tough when you are already fighting for clean and clear skin. Many people go to extreme lengths, quite unsuccessfully, and make their skin condition worsen. If you know the right ways to deal with oily skin, you can make your oily skin work for you. An oily skin does not necessarily need to add to your sorrow. You can have soft, young, wrinkle-free look with oily skin as well!

To manage oily skin the only common way is to use oil free products. Wash your face at least twice a day with soap. Use oil absorbing blotting papers. Use more of powder products. Astringents will remove lot of oil and so do the toners. Look after your oily skin because you will get fewer wrinkles than those who have dry skin. They will envy you after some years.

Removing oil from top of the skin does not increase oil production. You can use any product safely to remove oils. Removing oils from the skin surface has no effect on oil production. Oil production does not increase.

Facial papers are safe to use. Many people believe that face oil blotting papers reduce sebum production. But that is not the truth. The papers only absorb the surface oils.

Oil Blotting Papers:

Use of oil blotting papers significantly reduces the surface oil on the skin. As these papers work only on the surface of the skin, they will not stop more oil production as may be wrongly believed by some. The better quality skin oil blotting papers come coated with powder to help absorb more sebum. Powder also leaves skin dry. Blot the oil on the face as many times as you wish with oil blotting papers.

Use water based products. Oily skin tends to produce an abundance of oil on the skin, therefore, water based products are the best choice for skin care. If one uses creams and/or moisturizers that contain oils, they may aggravate or possibly worsen the condition, usually by giving one blackheads and/or acne. Throughout the summer months, when the weather is hot and sweaty, it would be advisable to use only light makeup or better yet, no makeup at all. Light makeup means using only moisturizers and a blush, or simply adding a dash of natural colored lipstick and/or mascara for the eyes.

Individuals who have problems with oily skin are often trying to find a successful treatment for acne as well. It is difficult to maintain healthy skin when the production of sebum can clog your pores with break-out causing dirt and grime. Obtaining a medicated solution for your acne is only one step to improvement. You should also pay attention to your upper body, keeping your skin clean and fresh with a benzoyl peroxide wash. Oily skin will require special attention on a daily basis to prevent future break outs and to improve your complexion.
